A 7:30am shift start at the Royal Derby Hospital and a 8:45am school bell are not compatible. Neither is opening a shop at 8:00am, or a 7:00am start on a production line. School breakfast clubs usually open at 8:00am, which is often forty-five minutes too late.
We open at 7:00am. Your child comes to us on Normanton Road, has somewhere warm and calm to wake up properly, and we get them to the school gate for the start of the day. For families using our after school club as well, it means one provider, one invoice, and the same faces at both ends of the day.
How the morning works
Arrivals from 7:00am. The first half hour is deliberately quiet — reading, drawing, a board game, nobody being made to be lively at seven in the morning. Children eat the breakfast they bring with them; we do not provide food, and there is no food charge on your invoice. Drinking water is always available.
From around 8:15am we get bags, coats and reading folders together and set off, so children arrive at school settled rather than sprinting through the gate. We take children to the schools within a mile of us — the same list we collect from in the afternoon, on our schools we collect from page.

£16.00 is simply two hours at our standard £8.00 hourly rate — the same rate that builds every other price we publish. Fees are agreed individually, so if you need both ends of the day, or you have more than one child, talk to us and we will quote properly. Our pricing page shows how all of it is put together.
If you need both ends of the day
Plenty of Normanton and Pear Tree families do. Our after school club runs 3:00pm to 7:00pm with collection from the school gate, and our holiday club covers every school holiday. Taking morning and afternoon from the same setting means your child is with the same staff, in the same building, with one invoice covering the lot — which also makes a Universal Credit or Tax-Free Childcare claim far simpler to evidence.
